About this product

MINION5 is a massage cream containing 5% hormesis minerals — the same family of minerals known from radon hot springs and bedrock bathing. It is the product MINION is best known for, and salons and home users alike have been choosing it since it first went on sale in 2015.

The formula is built around naturally derived ingredients. It spreads smoothly over the skin, provides moisture and helps refine the look of skin texture. Use it anywhere from facial skincare to full-body massage.

What goes into it

• 5% hormesis minerals
• Approximately 98% naturally derived ingredients
• Sodium anisate, a plant-based preservative (no parabens or phenoxyethanol)
• Silica — a mineral long used in cosmetics
• Kaolin — the clay also known from clay packs
• No synthetic polymers, no mineral oil
• Made in our own factory — shipped within one month of production

How to use

1. Take a suitable amount and spread it over the skin
2. Work it in gently, as if massaging
3. Use it to finish your morning and evening skincare, or on areas you want to care for

Shelf life

Unopened: three years from production

After opening: please use within about six months
(about one year for the 500g and 1kg sizes when used with a spatula)

Storage

Room temperature is fine. It can also be kept in the bathroom — just take care not to drop it.

We recommend keeping it simple

At MINION we suggest a simple routine of MINION MIST and MINION5 alone. We believe a simple routine draws out the skin's own strength better than layering many products.

How it came about

Our founder first encountered “hormesis” in conversations with her father, a researcher in radiation biology. From the wish to make a cosmetic that even people with sensitive skin could use with confidence, at a price within reach, MINION5 went on sale in 2015.

Just after launch in June 2015, the supply of a raw material stopped. After six months of repeated trials, the product was reformulated into today's recipe centred on naturally derived ingredients.

In October 2021 our own factory was completed, and we became able to ship products within one month of production. We are told that only about 2% of cosmetics companies have their own factory, and we are reminded that we got here thanks to the people around us.
